Specialty Welding Operator: Cambridge, MD

Key Job Duties:

  • Weld, fabricate and finish projects according to customer specifications
  • Interpret and read engineering drawings, blue prints, and shop orders to trim, weld and assemble products
  • Operate welding and fabricating equipment including but not limited to TIG, MIG, Plasma, Heliarc, Electric and Acetylene welding technologies while affixing metal material
  • Cut and journal rods, knock down chain, perform set-up and operate vaious metal working pieces of equipment such as drills, drill presses, shears, brakes, saws, Yoder, etc.
  • Move materials and assemble components
  • Perform other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job


  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • 0-1 years of experience in the field or related area
  • Welding and Fabricating experience desired
  • Use of manufacturing terminology
  • Ability to use measurement devices to complete work
  • Knowledge of material specifications to assure proper usage
  • Ability to MIG, TIG, plasma, heliarc, electric, and acetylene weld
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Ability to create jigs and fixtures
  • Ability to drive and operate machinery
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to perform repetitive movements
  • Apprenticeship and/or formal training helpful
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Must be able to adhere to instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job
  • Must have a basic understanding of cutting tools and processes
  • Must also have good mechanical aptitude
